Clough Williams-Ellis opened the Portmeirion Hotel 99 years ago, and Terence Conran redesigned its curvilinear dining room in Art Deco style in 2005, making it a “special location” for meals overlooking the Dwyryd Estuary – “even with the light fading over the river on a turbulent December afternoon, it remains so romantic”.
