2021 Review: With views of Cadogan Place Gardens, this new Caprice Holdings sibling adjacent to the Cadogan Hotel is in the same mould as Richard Caring’s now-defunct Mount Street Deli, and opened in mid-2019. Initially opening is till late-afternoon, but ultimately a wine bar style operation is planned in the evenings.

Parisian über-pâtissier Cedric Grolet’s first outpost outside Paris (which opened in early 2022) is to be found at this bright, chic bakery, within the swish Knightsbridge 5-star. Internationally he is renowned for his Insta-friendly, trompe l’oeil fruit and flowers – amongst London’s fooderati he’s famous for charging £135 per head for the chef-counter experience. We have maintained its (fairly good) rating on the basis of complimentary, if limited, feedback this year. But some other reviewers sound a warning note, including that of Tanya Gold in the March 2023 Spectator who concluded: “It’s too flimsy – too credulous, too fragile – to hate, and soon, like Dorothy [in The Wizard of Oz], it will blow away”.
