Featured Brentford Restaurants
1. Rye by the Water
British, Modern restaurant in Brentford
Catherine Wheel Road - TW8
2023 Review: This “charming waterside café/restaurant” headed by Ben Rand, former head chef at The Dairy in Clapham (RIP), is set in a new development in Brentford, where the Grand Union Canal connects with the Thames. “The food on the small menu is lovely”, but it’s a largely daytime-only operation, with occasional supper club evenings.
2. Black Dog Beer House
British, Modern restaurant in Brentford
17 Albany Road - TW8
“Great, hearty gastro-food” with “no pretensions” along with an “excellent array of beers” (14 from the keg, five real ales, 50 bottled or canned) leave guests spoilt for choice at this “very welcoming” backstreet free house in Brentford. Landlord Pete Brew (sic) even has his own in-house nano-brewery, Fearless Nomad. Top Menu Tip – “the fantastic salt-beef sandwich”.
3. Sam's Waterside
restaurant in Hounslow
Catherine Wheel Road - TW8
Restaurateur Sam Harrison’s smart neighbourhood restaurant and bar is designed to help anchor the new Brentford Project – an upscale, mixed-use development beside the River Brent, open in summer 2023. It follows the success of Sam’s Riverside at the re-opened Riverside Studios by Hammersmith Bridge, although it doesn’t have the sweeping Thames -side vistas of the original. (There is also a Sam’s Larder opposite).
