Entrepreneurial chef Robin Gill has announced his latest venture – a neighbourhood restaurant set in a west London retirement community. Maria G’s, inspired by his time on the Amalfi coast near Naples, is scheduled to open in June in the Riverstone development in Warwick Lane, between Kensington and Earl’s Court.
The Irish-born chef made his name with the Dairy and the Manor (both RIP) in Clapham, where his follow-up Sorella also focuses on southern Italian cuisine. He also runs Darby’s near the new US embassy in Nine Elms and the Bermondsey Larder.
Robin told the Evening Standard: “During my training I was lucky enough to have spent time near the Amalfi coast, where a little fishing village called Marina del Cantone left a huge impression on me and how I cook today. Maria G’s is a restaurant taking me down memory lane. I’ll be creating my favourite dishes with some of my favourite ingredients from my beloved suppliers.”
