Shake Shack has started testing delivery services in London. It has begun serving customers via takeaway and delivery in the West End and Docklands, joining a number of other small- to medium-sized groups in looking at ways to plug the gaps until things return to normal.
Shake Shack Tottenham Court Road resumed trading earlier this week, while and the Canary Wharf restaurant started yesterday.
Sites will have firm social distancing measures in place, while staff have also been provided with additional training and guidelines.
Shake Shack is the latest to get going, but isn’t alone. The likes of Franco Manca also said it will launch 20 sites by June.
It highlights more than ever the disparity between fast casual dining and higher-end establishments, the latter of which can not so easily alter its concept or delivery.
