Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant (the flagship of his empire which now straddles continents and has taken to the high seas) has opened a cocktail and wine bar. The flash new drinking den, situated at the Naked Chef’s Hoxton restaurant in Westland Place, will serve classic and modern concoctions, craft beers, ciders and a few choice bottles of vino.
Bartenders at Fifteen (refreshingly not ‘mixologists’) have created cocktails like: ‘G & Teacup’ made with homemade Earl Grey-infused gin, lemon, sugar and grapefruit bitters, served in a teapot for two, as well as the ‘Kingston Apple Jack’ with Somerset cider brandy, dry Curacao, spiced honey, apple juice, lemon and egg white, and the Riminita made with Acqua di Cedro, Calle 23 Blanco tequila, lime, chilli and agave nectar.
For beer-lovers there are draft and bottled lagers, stouts and ales in the form of Camden Hells, Freedom Pilsner, Bethnal Pale Ale and Chalky’s Bite. A daily-changing menu of bar snacks includes beef and barley buns with horseradish, crispy quail and mushroom ketchup and duck ham, quince and land cress.
