Our mission is remarkably simple. To tell it how it is!

Hackney’s Wringer & Mangle branches out to Spitalfields

A sister bar and restaurant to Hackney hangout Wringer & Mangle will open a stone’s throw from Old Spitalfields Market on 11 September. The original launched two years ago in London Fields in a disused former laundry. Wringer & Mangle Spitalfields is spread over two floors offering dining upstairs, a lunchtime deli counter and cocktails in the bar downstairs. Fans of the original can expect to find their popular, £15 bottomless prosecco brunch on the menu.

Group food directorPaul Gayler MBE and head chef Peter Tomkinson will oversee the kitchen at the new restaurant, while the Hackney site gets a new chef, Stuart Skues.

At the centre of both sites, the daily deli counter will be the place to grab a lunch on the go, or to sit in. Enjoy salads, a hot counter, sandwiches, and pastries. Brunchers can dig into breakfast-inspired dishes and enjoy an extremely reasonable £15 bottomless prosecco brunch, or the punch of the month! Sundays will also offer an all-day roast. Meanwhile the downstairs bar serves a range of craft beers and cocktails and will host DJ sets and live music every Thursday and Saturday in partnership with Percolate. On Friday nights the downstairs bar will transform into Gloria’s house, where you’ll find wild drag queens, cocktails and a ‘house party’ atmosphere.
