Ambitious Wandsworth town restaurant London Stock is to open a second branch next month in the heart of Mayfair – a move that brings its young team into direct competition with some of the culinary world’s big hitters.
London Stock was launched three years ago as the flagship dining destination at Wandsworth’s new ‘Ram Quarter’, the redeveloped Young’s brewery site on the South Circular road, with the grand aim of “redefining the traditional fine-dining experience”.
It was the first venture for a trio of chefs, Cordon Bleu-trained Assem Abdel Hady (pictured) and Andres Bernal, who between them have stints at Umu, Dinner by Heston, Nobu and Pollen Street Social under their aprons, plus Sebastian Rast, ex-Above at Hide. The venture is praised in the 2023 Harden’s guide for its “relaxed” atmosphere and “beautifully presented” dishes.
The new restaurant, in Sackville Street, features a ‘zero waste’ open kitchen, with a private dining room seating 12 with its own bar in the basement. It will offer a seasonal eight-course tasting menu at £85, along with an à la carte three-course lunch at £40, a three-course pre-theatre menu at £50 and a four-course evening set menu at £60.
Assem says: “We are thrilled to have this beautiful space for the next chapter of London Stock in the heart of Mayfair. We very much look forward to offering a dining experience that surprises and delights, with our guests leaving with truly unforgettable memories.”
London Stock opens at 6 Sackville Street on Wednesday 4 October.
