Hungry hirata bun lovers and beer enthusiasts will be in their element at a new pop-up opening this week above K10 Appold Street in the City. Beer & Buns offers the UK’s largest selection of Japanese craft beers and to celebrate its launch diners can buy-one-get-one-free on all beer, frozen cocktails, buns and wings, 5-6 February from 5pm.

As well as hirata buns there’s Korean-style chicken wings, frozen head beer, retro pinball machines and fussball – think Speakeasy meets Japanese dive bar.

This type of izakaya-style eating and drinking spot is becoming more and more popular in the capital with Kurobuta opening two sites last year and Jason Atherton’s Shosharu coming this spring.
