Two of east London’s most exciting dining and drinking destinations have joined forces – it’s a foodie’s dream come true! On Wednesday 18 March, Sager + Wilde and the Typing Room at Bethnal Green Town Hall hotel will host a collaborative wine dinner for one night only.
An eight course tasting menu will pair chef (and Jason Atherton protégée) Lee Westcott’s signature style with Californian wines selected by Michael and Charlotte Sager-Wilde (of both Mission and Sager & Wilde). And the ticket price? £150 buys you a seat at the table, including wines and service.
Westcott and his team took over the former site of Viajante last year – pretty big shoes to fill but Typing Room has done an admirable job. Not only was the restaurant in our top 10 openings of 2014, Harden’s survey reporters gave its “amazing” tasting menus top marks for food.
On the menu: mackerel, passion fruit and kohlrabi; celeriac, foie gras, mustard and walnut paired with the likes of Scholium Project, Pierre Breton, JJ Prum and Pierre Morey.
