Soho’s “fun and funky” free-range rotisserie chicken spot Clockjack has expanded into the City with a new restaurant kitchen dedicated to delivery. Feeding off the phenomenon that is Deliveroo, the venture (backed by David Moore of Pied à Terre et-al) has no front-of-house operation and simply offers Square Mile businesses and residents the chance to have freshly roasted chicken brought straight to their door.
The kitchen delivery hub, which opened on Wednesday 1 June on Botolph Alley near Monument tube station, offers ethically reared, free-range rotisserie chicken served on the bone or in salads or wraps, plus sides and desserts.
Orders can be placed at deliveroo.co.uk or http://www.clockjack.co.uk/city and will be delivered to homes and offices in a two-mile radius in under 30 minutes. As well as the Square Mile, the delivery kitchen also covers Clerkenwell, Islington, Bethnal Green, Whitechapel and Wapping.
Clockjack’s Soho original opened in Denman Street, Soho, in 2012. A second Clockjack restaurant with 75-covers will open in Powis Street, Woolwich, in July.
The kitchen delivery hub is open from 11 am-10 pm Monday-Friday. Its menu is different to the Soho restaurant, although it is still based on Clockjack’s signature rotisserie chicken, it has been adapted for the delivery market, with dishes starting from £3.95.
