A brasserie-style venture from Michel (the elder) and Alain Roux is slated to open within a new residential complex in Taplow in autumn 2018. Roux at Skindles will be overseen by Alain, and will be a world away from the lavishness of its sister restaurant, the “absolutely impeccable” Waterside Inn in nearby Bray.
The brasserie will be part of the new Berkeley development – Taplow Riverside – which includes 139 residential properties and a 60 unit care home on the former site of Skindles hotel, which has been derelict since 1995. Michel told the Telegraph he was persuaded to join the project due to its idyllic location.
Roux at Skindles will include an open kitchen, first floor bar serving sharing plates and drinks and an al-fresco dining terrace by the river. The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
