This week high rise City neighbours Sushisamba and Duck & Waffle have each created dishes to help benefit relief efforts in Nepal. From 5-11 May 50% of the proceeds from Sushisamba’s Nepal Relief Roll and Duck & Waffle’s Nepalese spiced lentil & confit duck will go to aid the victims of the earthquake.
The Npal Relief Roll (£14) uses Nepalese ingredients like gogi berries, mango and Himalayan pink salt, alongside Tamari-Sushi spicy tuna tartare. The proceeds benefit CITTA: a not-for-profit organisation that supports development in economically challenged, geographically remote or marginalised communities.
Meanwhile proceeds from the Nepalese spiced lentil & confit duck, created by D&W chef Daniel Doherty, will help Learning for Life’s Rebuilding Schools: Nepal Earthquake Appeal. The dish (£12) uses Nepalese ingredients like spices, lentils and yogurt, as well as scotch egg, crispy garlic and coriander.
