Artfarm, the hospitality arm of the Hauser + Wirth international art dealership, is to open its latest restaurant tomorrow – back where it began 10 years ago, at H+W’s rural art gallery on Durslade Farm near Bruton in Somerset.
Da Costa restaurant is named after co-founder Iwan Wirth’s Italian grandfather, who was born in the village of Rivamonte Agordino in the northern province of Veneto, and later moved to Switzerland where he opened a restaurant.
Da Costa takes over the site previously occupied by Roth Bar & Grill, and will serve traditional northern Italian dishes including pasta, risotto and daily specials cooked over fire, using seasonal produce grown on the farm and surrounding area. Menu highlights include risotto with toasted walnuts, a staple dish from Rivamonte; carpaccio of Durslade Farm beef; handmade buckwheat pasta with fonduta (an Italian take on fondue); and grilled red mullet with fennel and caper salad.
The wine list focuses on Italian and British small domain producers, including wines created in Durslade Farm’s own vineyards. This is also a selection of Italian-inspired cocktails.
The Artfarm group includes the Audley pub and Mount Street Restaurant in Mayfair, the Groucho Club in Soho, the Fife Arms in Scotland, and Manuela restaurant in Los Angeles.
