Sosban Restaurant in Llanelli has appointed a new executive chef who aims to make the waterside venue the best restaurant in Wales. Andrew Sheridan says he wants to drive Sosban to new heights, bringing authentic flavours and beautifully plated dishes to not only local but also national diners visiting the restaurant.
At only 17 Andrew was a semi-finalist in the BBC Young Chef of the Year and later in 2011 he won North West Chef of the Year before going on to work at the ABode restaurant in Chester. He joins Sosban after spending the last 18 months at the helm of ‘The River Room’ restaurant located at the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre in the Conwy Valley.
He has already introduced a range of new dishes to the menu, including: nori rolled Scallops, mango puree and pickled rainbow radish to start; lamb Loin, garlic puree, goats curd and onions for mains; and beetroot, dark chocolate, raspberries and olives for dessert.
Sosban set down roots in Llanelli’s North Dock in 2011, situated in a Grade II listed building, with exposed brick and wood-beam interior.
