Each week in lockdown, we’ll shine a light on three restaurant delivery services, either a ‘DIY kit’ or a takeaway meal service, we think look worth trying. Not only is it crucial to support our beloved restaurant industry, but it also stands to reason we continue to eat well. Here’s our pick for week one: seafood and burgers across the UK.
“For a taste of Rick Stein’s famed seafood dishes at home, look no further than Stein’s at Home. Each box contains all you need to feed two people a delicious three course meal. All the preparation has been done by the Rick Stein team, all that’s needed from you is to cook and plate up the dishes. There are currently three boxes to choose from, The Hake Box, The Indonesian Curry Box, and The Lobster Box, priced from £40 per box.
Example dishes include starters of grilled scallops with a hazelnut and coriander butter, classic moules mariniere, and smoked mackerel pate; mains include grilled hake piperade, Indonesian seafood curry with pilau rice and a green bean and coconut salad, and a delicious lobster thermidor.
To round off the experience, why not add a bottle or two to the box, chosen by head of drinks and sommelier Charlie Stein?”
“Honest Burgers will continue to deliver its high-quality burgers using its very own butchery’s beef, homemade rosemary-salted chips and bacon gravy, alongside vegan and gluten-free options and sides, all delivered to the comfort of your own home.
