Nobu is allegedly set to close its Mayfair restaurant in Berkeley Street ahead of launching in Portman Square in the summer.
Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper opened the restaurant 15 years ago and now, under the Nobu Hospitality banner, operate two other London sites in Shoreditch, a hotel which opened in 2017, and Old Park Lane, which opened 20 years earlier.
Landlord LRC has instructed the estate agent Knight Frank to market the Berkley Street site after the group surrendered its lease, according to Property Week.
The group will open in Portman Square later this year. The Berkeley Street restaurant had held a Michelin star between 2006 and 2014, though hasn’t exactly inspired diners for some time.
