Counting down to Theresa May’s snap general election, spend one of the most exciting evenings of the 2017 political calendar at The Cinnamon Club – affectionately known as “The Westminster Canteen” – for an all-night offering of modern Indian food and drink, including exclusive ‘Cabinet Cocktails.’ Predict the election outcome for your chance to win a special prize!
Tomorrow (8 June) the country will decide if it wants to endorse May and her government, or oust the Tories in favour of Labour (or perhaps an alliance between Labour, Lib-Dem and Green). Why not watch the drama unfold on the big screen while enjoying a sumptuous Indian feast in the beautiful surroundings of the old Westminster Library? No matter the result, that seems like a win to us!
Dinner will be served 6-10.45 pm, with breakfast served from 5 am onwards. On the menu: Fenugreek scented tandoori cod, curry leaf and lime crumble or tandoori octopus with chutney aloo, fennel salad and tomato lemongrass dressing. Elect a main such as the Norfolk free range chicken breast in Hyderabadi korma sauce with a garlic naan crumble, as well as roast saddle of Romney Marsh lamb, saffron and pickled root vegetables. Complete your meal with a dessert of either Alphonso mango kulfi in a chilli mango soup or a slice of honey lime cheesecake.
After dinner head to the Library Bar for some ‘Cabinet Cocktails. Unwind with a Remoaner’s Ruin, a mix of Belvedere vodka and Bombay Sapphire, Hope for the Future, a light drink made with spiced rum, almond syrup, coriander, lime topped up with Ginger Beer or toast with an “Order! Order!” made with gin, fig liqueur, Aperol and orange bitters. Bar snacks will be available to keep you going through this long evening.
If the thrill of a new government isn’t enough excitement for one evening, guests will also be encouraged to cast their vote speculating which party will emerge victorious for a chance to win a tasting menu for two guests along with paired wines at The Cinnamon Club, plus a copy of Vivek Singh’s latest cookbook Vivek Singh’s Festival Feasts.
Guests can solely book in for dinner, drop by for breakfast or arrive only to kick back in the bar to follow the live results.
