Brighton diners will get a preview of the new restaurant chef Matt Gillan plans for the city during a residency at the Lucky Beach Café on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in November and December.
Gillan was head chef at The Pass restaurant in South Lodge Hotel near Horsham for 10 years until April. The Harden’s Survey enthused about his “divine” and “inspiring” seven-course meals, prepared in front of diners in an open kitchen and served directly by the chefs who cooked them.
At Lucky Beach he will serve eight courses each night with a small selection of wines and other drinks available, for a single sitting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £56.48 – the price possibly alluding to the name of Gillan’s company, the Random Precision Collective.
Gillan has yet to release information about the restaurant he intends to open in Brighton next year.
