Israeli chef Eyal Shani is bringing his international pita brand Miznon to London with the launch of his new restaurant in Soho next week, adding to the capital’s booming Middle Eastern dining scene.
He opened the original Miznon in Tel Aviv in 2011, and has followed up with branches in Paris, Vienna, New York, Melbourne, Singapore and Boston. In each location, he says, local and seasonal ingredients are sourced to “take the flavour of each city and translate it into pita“. Soho’s specials will include a lamb kebab and a minute steak plate.
Other branches of Miznon may well follow, if a global target of 150 branches is to be met. Meanwhile, Eyal will open a branch of his upscale restaurant HaSalon in Notting Hill later this year. Again headquartered in Tel Aviv, it has branches in New York, Ibiza and Miami Beach.
Miznon opens in Broadwick Street, Soho, next Friday.
