Lee Johnson and Sinead Campbell, founders of BBQ Dreamz, a restaurant concept that appeared on the Beeb’s My Million Pound Menu TV show, will open Bong Bong’s Manila Kanteen in Bethnal Green.
The creation brings together a host of Filipino favourites, with South Asian cocktails and beers, as well as a weekly Sunday kamayan.
It is the first permanent site from the duo, who attracted investment on the show with their street food truck earlier this year.
Dishes include satay duck heart skewers cooked over charcoal and topped with chicharrón; and Lechon Kawali, a crispy chunk of pork belly, marinated with vinegar and star anise for 24 hours, before deep frying.
