For those who’ve never experienced the luxury of the airport first class lounge here’s your chance to do so – without the horror of actually going to the airport. Virgin Atlantic and Delta Airline (official airline partners of London’s O2 venue) will launch the NY-LON bar and lounge in Greenwich this July.
The airlines have teamed up with Manchester-based design agency, LOVE, to create a new lounge bar which will apparently mix ‘international jet-setting with London’s chic bar scene’. Even here though there will still be hierarchy with a VIP area for the most ‘I’ of VIPs.
On the menu: Cured meats sharing board and Billingsgate fish pie.
But the drinks list is the real star of the show here with cocktails such as: Aviation, Transatlantic, Flying Lady, Maiden Voyager, Atlanta and Cropduster.
Members of the airlines’ frequent flyer programmes, SkyMiles and Flying Club, will benefit from a range of special offers and discounts. NY-LON, from Levy Restaurants UK group, will hold up to 400 guests and features a large bar and seating area, plus a “secret space” for meetings, private dining or small events.
