Fair Shot, the Covent Garden social enterprise coffee shop that helps young adults with learning difficulties, has geared up for the Christmas season with the offer of five hampers full of purpose as well as treats.
Set in the new The Yards development, it is also perfectly positioned to rescue weary West End Christmas shoppers with a hot chocolate or mulled apple pick-me-up.
Founder Bianca Tavella set up the non-for-profit business with the aim of transforming the lives of young adults with learning disabilities through speciality coffee, offering year-long internships which equip individuals for a career in hospitality.
The longer-term ambition is to normalise an inclusive approach to employment and to disprove the stigmas and myths around people with learning difficulties in the workplace, that often prevent them from finding meaningful roles.
