Pearly Queen, a new oyster bar and restaurant, opens tomorrow (11 November) in Shoreditch from Tom Brown, the chef behind Cornerstone in Hackney and a familiar face from television.
The 60-cover venue will have an upstairs bar with counter seating, while downstairs offers a more secluded setting with banquettes.
Tom has teamed up with Max Venning of Dalston bar Three Sheets to create a list of coastal-inspired cocktails to accompany the menu of oysters, shellfish and ‘sea-cuterie’.
Tom says: “The last few years for the restaurant industry has been pure survival and I see Pearly Queen as an expression of that spirit. It’s the result of a massive team effort, everyone involved working hard and championing the British seafood industry, just like those early Pearly Queen traders who took something raw and turned it into something beautiful.“
