Messrs Bancroft and Haworth’s fabulous Langho manor house, Northcote, will celebrate its 30th birthday in January together with the 15th year of its annual gastronomic event, Obsession. If you’re obsessed with food the gourmet evenings, running from Friday 23 January – Saturday 7 February, could be the place for you.
The starry roll call of chefs includes: Nigel Haworth, Glynn Purnell, Shaun Rankin and Kenny Atkinson. American-born Ken Hom will fly the flag for Chinese cuisine, Tsuyoshi Murakami will be attending from Brazil, and Kolkata-native Gaggan Anand, India’s most celebrated chef, will join the event from Bangkok. The Cinnamon Club’s Vivek Singh will also have input, as well as Klaus Erfort from Germany, Jacob Jan Boerma from Holland and Italian brothers Enrico and Roberto Cerea.
Tickets are expensive (but not absurdly so) priced at £115, and include a five-course menu together with a Louis Roederer Brut Premier and canapeÌ reception. Paired wine flight options are available on enquiry. Add on an overnight stay from £255 (B&B).
To book call Northcote – which once again featured (24) in the Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants powered by Harden’s – on 01254 244 503.
