D&D London have announced a bumper Christmas with record revenues across the restaurant group, especially at new-look venues like Quaglino’s and Avenue. It also seems as though diners were in the mood to celebrate over this holiday season with a 15 per cent annual increase in champagne sales at the group’s restaurant.
Overall revenues at D&D’s empire (which spans London, Leeds, Paris, New York and Tokyo) were up 14 per cent compared with 2013 and UK like-for-like revenues were up 10 per cent on last year.
Des Gunewardena, chairman and CEO of D&D London, said: “We had an exceptionally strong Christmas. Stand out performers were our recently remodelled London restaurants (Quaglino’s, Avenue and Carom). Sales growth at Christmas came from a combination of increased covers and growth in spends – champagne sales were up 15 per cent on 2013.”
