In March 2018, Gravetye Manor will launch a one-off series of cookery courses at Kingscote Vineyard, hosted by head chef George Blogg. The masterclasses will allow Gravetye to continue to share its wonderful food with customers while the hotel is closed for refurbishment and the construction of its stunning new garden restaurant, opening in June 2018.
Guests will join George and his fellow chefs in the Tithe Barn at neighbouring Kingscote Vineyard for an exclusive masterclass, packed with cooking demonstrations and hands on activities. Starting with a Q&A session with George, each class will then be tailor-made to reflect the group’s particular interests. Guests can head out on either a foraging trip around Kingscote Estate to pick fresh ingredients, or enjoy a food and wine pairing session led by Gravetye Manor head sommelier, Alexis Jamin.
Then it’s off to the kitchen to try your hand at creating a range of dishes, guided by George and his team, with top tips on how to organise, cook, present and serve delicious food for larger groups.
The one-day masterclasses take place on selected dates in March. Priced at £225 per person, the classes will include tea/coffee on arrival, lunch and drinks, a Gravetye Manor apron and bespoke recipe cards from George to take home. To book call 01342 810567 or email events@gravetyemanor.co.uk
During the closure of Gravetye, Head Chef George Blogg is taking his talents elsewhere and will be taking part in two guest dinners, the first on 22 February, when George will join executive chef Andrew Baird in the kitchen at 5* luxury hotel Longueville Manor, Jersey (call 01534 725501 for more information and to book).
A second dinner will take place at Michelin-starred Hambleton Hall, Rutland on 28 March (email hotel@hambletonhall.com for more information and to book). Both dinners will offer aperitif, a 6-course menu and accompanying wine, from £115 per person.
