JKS Restaurants has launched home delivery services across much of its group, with takeaway now available from Gymkhana and Brigadiers for the first time.

The restaurant company has also broadened the delivery radius’ and added locations to Hoppers, Berenjak, and Motu, and created a takeaway-only brand, Rice Error, through BAO. More concepts are in the pipeline.

While the tweaks and additions are clearly in response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, it also indicates how brands might adapt in a changed industry afterwards.

There is no clear route, nor is there a definitive aim – but the common purpose for restaurants to continue, both in business and as part of a cultural entity in the UK, is well apparent.

Here’s what to expect from JKS:

Gymkhana – modern classics such as butter chicken, tandoori masala lamb chops, and muntjac biryani will be available, as well as “feast” menus. Delivery includes Marylebone, Mayfair, Paddington, Knightsbridge, Victoria, Sloane Square, St John’s Wood, Camden, Primrose Hill, and King’s Cross, and runs from May 22.

Brigadiers – The menu features the likes of the signature mixed grill, butter chicken wings, and Indian mangoes, while in season. Delivery includes Covent Garden, Clerkenwell, Hoxton, City, Shoreditch, Whitechapel, and Bethnal Green, and launches today.

Trishna – The Michelin-starred spot will serve its south-western dishes such as hariyali bream and chicken pepper fry. Delivery radius includes Marylebone, Mayfair, Paddington, St John’s Wood, Fitzrova, and Euston, and launches on May 22.

Motu Indian Kitchen – as before

Rice Error by BAO

The team behind BAO have introduced a new delivery only brand, Rice Error. Initially launched from Borough Market on March 29, Rice Error specialises in takeaway rice boxes using Taiwan’s award-winning chi-shang rice. The menu includes cha shao pork belly, 40 day aged black pepper beef, and Taiwanese fried chicken. The team will be expanding to new delivery locations across London in the coming weeks.
