Globally popular ramen bar, Ippudo – which already has sites in Japan, Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong and New York – is finally to open its first European outpost. No prizes for guessing where they’ve decided to launch this new flagship restaurant – London (obvs).
Ippudo St Giles will offer Londoners signature dishes like Shiromaru Classic, a traditional white pork-based broth ramen, and Akamaru Modern, a broth seasoned with garlic oil and Ippudo’s secret miso paste (Umami-dama). Both varieties include freshly-made noodles (made in-house daily) topped with roast pork, bean sprouts, and spring onions. Vegetarian versions will also be available.
As with most central London dining spots these days, the 80-cover restaurant doesn’t take reservations, so be prepared to queue – maybe bring a book.
Ippudo will open and launch its full menu, with dishes exclusive to the UK, on 10 October.
