A swish, design-led and Japanese-inspired Middle Eastern restaurant opens on Monday (18 December) near Harrods, under the far from glamorous name of Clap.
Clap takes over three storeys of a building in Knightsbridge’s Basil Street, and incorporates a main dining room with open kitchen, a street-level café and a rooftop bar.
The brand made its debut in Beirut five years ago and now has branches in Dubai and Riyadh. It is part of the Addmind hospitality group, which also operates Sucre, an Argentinian restaurant in Soho that is praised in the new 2024 Hardens guide for its “great vibe”.
Tony Habre, who launched Addmind with a single Beirut bar in 2001, said: “Bringing CLAP to London is an exhilarating milestone for Addmind Hospitality.
“This fourth location marks a significant achievement for us, and we are excited to share the unique experience of CLAP with Londoners and visitors alike. We hope that CLAP will be a great addition to the London culinary scene, and we are proud of the concept and the community it has created.”
Trailed dishes include Hokkaido scallops with foie gras; Wagyu beef tartare and Biwa caviar; and pistachio-crusted baby chicken with yuzu and daikon.
