Prolific Liverpool Turkish chef-restaurateur Bayram Yüce has opened his latest venture at one of the city’s most famous hospitality addresses: 60 Hope Street. Elite 60 is Bayram’s sixth site, and follows hot on the heels of his first opening beyond Merseyside – the Beefalo Meat House in Astley Bridge, Bolton.
The original 60 Hope Street was launched in 1999 in a Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse near the Anglican cathedral by brothers Gary and Colin Manning, and for many years was widely considered the best in the city. They announced its permanent closure in May this year, saying the market had changed over two decades.
Bayram says the new restaurant is very different from his others, which are all variations on the steakhouse. “With Elite 60, I want to bring a new colour to fine dining, so I am going to call this concept ‘fine food’. The menu will have inspiration of many different cultures and will be combined with my unique cooking styles. The ground floor will be the main dining area, and downstairs will be an upmarket cocktail bar where diners can have their drinks before or after their meal. The first floor will give an opportunity for groups to have a private dining experience.”
