Mano Mayfair, a new restaurant offering “the vibrancy of Latin America with the unbridled glamour of late 1950s St Tropez”, is scheduled to open in Heddon Street before Christmas, although the return of the pandemic restrictions may have thrown the exact date into doubt.
The concept comes from entrepreneur Alexis Colette and Romain Fargette, who has run beach clubs and bars on the Riviera – as is reflected in the “decadent and sensual” beach-bar vibe promised for Mano, with resident DJs and cocktails using cachaca, sake and tropical fruits.
The kitchen is headed by chef Luciana Berry (pictured above), who is combining influences from Japan and her native Brazil. Sharing dishes include carne seca (Brazilian dried beef) and smoked picanha in yakiniku sauce.
