Veteran kosher restaurateur Tony Page has transferred his flagship Island Grill at the Royal Lancaster hotel overlooking Hyde Park to Marylebone, where it has taken over the former Chotto Matte site on the corner of Paddington and Chiltern Streets.
After almost five decades in the industry, Tony (left in picture) is described as “the gold standard in kosher catering” by Ted Schama (right) of restaurant property outfit Shelley Sandzer.
Tony Page Marylebone accommodates up to 100 guests – a 20% increase on the hotel site – as well as offering better facilities for the kitchen brigade.
Tony said: “In the initial weeks, we will retain our current menu, gradually introducing exciting new dishes as we settle into out state-of-the-art kitchen – three times the size of our current one! We will also introduce a daily business lunch special, and one of the highlights of the new space is a fabulous charcoal-burning fire pit, perfect for grilling our signature meats.
“Looking ahead, we have exciting plans for April, including repositioning the bar to create a private area for up to 40 guests and introducing a chef’s dining table adjacent to the kitchen.”
