Marco Pierre White is still a restaurateur and, yes, still opening restaurants. The Leeds-born celebrity chef now has eight brands, the most prominent of which is his Steakhouse & Grill chain, which, defying criticism, remains a feature across the UK.
This time, the former Michelin-starred chef is launching a Steakhouse Bar & Grill at the Bredbury Hall Hotel in Stockport. MPW will again be looking to bring “affordable glamour” to his line of steakhouses, which focus of classic French and British food.
The restaurant is due to open at the end of July and is the product of a joint venture between hotel owner Golam Sarwar, of Assured Hotels, and MPW’s Black and White Hospitality, which looks after the chef’s portfolio.
The move comes just seven months after MPW teamed up with Pierre Koffmann to open a new restaurant at the Abbey Hotel in Bath. There’s been little chatter on how that’s been doing.
Of the new Stockport venture, Mr Sarwar told Hospitality & Catering: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have someone of Marco’s calibre open one of his steakhouse restaurants at the Bredbury Hall Hotel.”
Mathew Griffin, managing director of Assured Hotels, added: “We are very proud to be opening a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill and look forward to working closely with the MPW Restaurants team to make this new venue a huge success.”
