Open for just a few weeks each year during the House of Lords recess, this dining room at the Palace of Westminster will admit members of the public from 18 September-6 October. Peers’ Dining Room is taking bookings for lunch only via ResDiary from 19 August.
A new three-course lunch menu using seasonal British ingredients costs £45 per person, including coffee and petit fours. A pretty reasonable sum for dining like a peer of the realm (especially considering the Commons’ dining room set menu is priced at £75pp).
The House of Lords is the second chamber of the Houses of Parliament and occupies the southern part of the historic Palace of Westminster. Like the House of Commons restaurant Strangers Dining Room, which opened to the public in April this year, visitors to Peers’ Dining Room will be subject to an airport-style security check – but it should be worth it for the experience of entering and dining within the hallowed halls of Westminster.
For further information, please email the Peers’ Dining Room team hlpdrbookings@parliament.uk (Mon-Thu 10.30 am-5.30 pm). See the restaurants ResDiary page for booking terms and conditions.
