The ‘Lex Luthor of Mayfair’, Richard Caring, will expand his ever-increasing empire with the opening of The Ivy Market Grill in Covent Garden before Christmas. The restaurant, launching on Henrietta Street, will be a slightly more casual affair than its famous namesake, The Ivy (pictured).

Just like the site in Berkeley Square that billionaire restaurateur Caring snapped up earlier this year, The Ivy Market Grill will open on the former home of a bank, this time a Lloyds branch.

The kitchen will be headed up by Sean Burbidge, who was previously head chef at Petrus.
