The Boisdale stable of Scottish-themed bar-restaurants will expand next week with a new opening – in a converted Mayfair stables.
The latest venue is smaller than the Belgravia original and its City and Canary Wharf offshoots, so has more of a cosy whisky bar atmosphere – topped off with an in-house humidor and street-level cigar terrace.
Set over two floors of a Grade 1-listed stables near Marble Arch, it also features a bistro, shellfish bar and “Mayfair’s most exclusive whisky list of fine and rare malts”.
Live jazz and blues will be played every night by pianists in the ground-level Stable Bar.
The Harden’s Survey consistently hails the Boisdale group for its “traditional Caledonian fare” and “clubbable” atmosphere rather than for the refinement of its cuisine.
