Wine bar/restaurant Linden Stores, which began life in London before heading north to Cheshire four years, is reopening this month at its third address – in the market town of Knutsford, south of Manchester.
The venture was launched in Highbury in 2017 by partners Laura Christie, formerly of Oklava and Kyseri, and Chris Boustead, ex-Opera Tavern and James Cochrane. In 2020 they upped sticks and moved the business into a tiny shop in the village of Audlem, where they stayed until earlier this year.
Chef Chris creates sharing menus with a focus on comfort and sustainability with foraged ingredients from the Cheshire countryside, while Laura oversees a list of wines from small-scale independent producers around the world. The bottles are also available in their shop.
The business takes its name from the street where Chris grew up in Scarborough, and his dishes often reflect his Yorkshire origins, featuring Bovril mayonnaise and Yorkshire parkin.
Linden Stores is at 15 Minshull Street, Knutsford, with a soft launch next week (Thursday 23–Sunday 26 November).
