Chef Claude Bosi is to open a new restaurant on Chelsea’s Fulham Road at the end of this month dedicated to the food of his native Lyons – and named in memory of his grandmother, Josephine.
Serving French bistro classics alongside tradition Lyonnais specialities, Josephine is also Claude’s first joint business venture with his wife, Lucy.
He says: “We’re incredibly excited to bring a little piece of Lyons to Chelsea with the opening of Josephine. This restaurant is a very personal project for us, an ode to my grandmother and the traditional bouchons of Lyons that have always held a special place in our hearts.”
Claude made his name with Hibiscus in Ludlow and later Mayfair, before taking over Bibendum in Chelsea’s Michelin House. Last year he launched Brooklands on the rooftop of the Peninsula hotel and, in partnership with Samyukta Nair, the Provence-inspired Socca in Mayfair.
Will Smith, previously of Arbutus and Wild Honey, will be general manager of Josephine, while head chef Matteo Degola has worked in Claude’s other kitchens for the past two years.
Josephine will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week from January 30, at 315 Fulham Road, SW10.
