Further evidence that health food-focused restaurants are making inroads in London (which now surely has had its fill of burger bars) as Farm Girl opens in Notting Hill. The Antipodean-style café arrived in Portobello Road in June, just north of the area’s iconic market.
And it sounds like founder Rose Mann, who grew up on a farm outside Melbourne, has found a rather plum spot from which to serve her salads, porridges and cold-pressed juices. The 45-cover restaurant has a dining room on the ground floor, communal table on the mezzanine and an al-fesco courtyard.
On the menu: Farm Girl Porridge – jumbo oats, chia seeds, Himalayan salt, coconut oil, served with yoghurt, berries or avocado; roast beetroot salad – feta, purple sprouting broccoli, feta, coriander, hemp seeds and pumpkin seeds; cold brew coffee, served with ice and homemade coconut milk or almond milk on the side; cold-pressed juices and superfood smoothies.
