It is not all doom and gloom. Kebab specialists Le Bab will open a new site in Shoreditch next year – with a site scheduled for February 2021.
The Old Street restaurant will open until 5pm, so let’s hope London’s party scene returns in the New Year.
Co-Founders Stephen Tozer, Manu Canales, and Ed Brunet are honouring Britain’s late-night kebab culture (the original inspiration for Le Bab) with their new venue, which is taking over the former “Turkish Delight” kebab shop.
Kebabs will be cooked on a wood and charcoal-filled robata and served with freshly-made in-house flatbreads.
On the menu will be the pork shawarma, which comes with pickled cucumber, chermoula mayo, and herbs; the lamb ‘Madras’, which comes with Bombay mix, red onion, lime, mint, and coriander; and the paneer kebab, with coconut puree, crispy onion, and curry mayonnaise.
There will be 40 covers and a takeaway option.
