Spanish TV chef Omar Allibhoy is to open the sixth and biggest branch of his Tapas Revolution chain in Newcastle next month.
The all-day contemporary tapas bar will serve a range of classic small dishes with ingredients sourced from small artisan producers in Spain, alongside Spanish wines, craft beers and what is claimed to be the UK’s only exclusively Spanish gin list.
Tapas may be better suited to Newcastle than to most British cities, given the local custom of visiting several bars and restaurants on a night out, Latin-style, rather than staying put in just one.
“Tapas Revolution in Eldon Square is my version of the lively and bustling tapas bars in Madrid, Barcelona and Seville,” Allibhoy says. “We can’t wait to open our doors.”
Tapas Revoution will open daily from 9am to 11pm (10 to 10 on Sundays) from February 13. There are two branches in London and one each in Sheffield, Birmingham and the Bluewater shopping centre.
