One of London’s most heavily trailed openings of the year has been postponed indefinitely with the news this week that Brad Carter is no longer involved with the Undercroft project in Mayfair.
Brad closed his hit Birmingham restaurant Carter’s of Mosley last year, and in April announced that he would open Undercroft in the crypt beneath St George’s church off Hanover Square later this year.
Earlier this week, he released a statement saying, “Sadly my London debut is on hold. As of today, I will no longer be part of the Undercroft. I was genuinely very excited about this project, having first seen the space in 2022. We built an incredible team of people and suppliers to which we are very grateful for the support.”
Brad, who is currently on a four-day chef residency in Mallorca, is understood to remain committed to making his London move. There has been no statement from the investors behind Undercroft.
