Food-obsessed cousins Mark Kimber (left in photo) and Harry Smith are opening Plot, a bijou 15-seat restaurant, in a converted market stall inside historic Tooting Broadway Market on January 11.
The pair both grew up in Tooting, and have hired chef Giles Estob to design a menu of small plates reflecting their interest in seasonal British produce. Meat will be supplied from Chadwick’s on Tooting High Street and fish from Moxon’s at Clapham South, while all the previewed dishes cost under £10.
British craft beers and wines from Nyetimber in West Sussex and Chapel Down Estate in Kent will be championed alongside an international list of wines and classic cocktails.
Kimber, a digital designer by trade, founded the website Food Edited in 2013, and Plot is his and Smith’s first foray as restaurateurs. It will open from Wednesday to Sunday, serving breakfast from 9am (10am on Sundays) and closing late.
