Marylebone’s restaurant scene continues to grow with the addition of Molé, a boutique Mexican restaurant and taco bar. Serving up both classic and experimental Mexican/South American cuisine and cocktails, the concept has been devised by the team behind successful neighbouring sister Pan-Asian restaurant, Cocochan.
The 50-cover restaurant’s quirky interior features a living wall with greenery, distressed surfaces. hand-drawn wallpaper by Timorous Beasties, and quotes from Mexico’s most famous female artist, Frida Kahlo.
Interestingly 80% of Molé’s menu will be gluten-free, including their signature tacos, made on site from Masa (cornflour). Also on the menu: Braised Oxtail, with Crema, Shaved Lettuce and Red Amaranth and Octopus with Pico de Gallo, Popcorn Shoot and Serrano Chilli.
Experimental tacos will include: Cod Cheeks with a Squid Ink Foam and Micro Leaf, and Slow Cooked Pork Belly with Pickled Watermelon and Sweet Miso.
Molé also has a Raw Bar serving cured dishes and ceviche. South American street food staple, ‘anticuchos’ (marinated skewers of fish, meat and vegetables) will also be available. The bar will serve an array of South American-inspired cocktails, and of course the popular Pisco Sour.
