L’Autre Pied, “the more casual baby sister of Pied à Terre”, will close its doors for good on 9 September. To thank diners for their custom the restaurant will offer two special menus at lunch and dinner – five course for just £31, or enjoy the full chef’s tasting menu for just £51*.
Owner David Moore says he had an ‘offer he couldn’t refuse’ for the café-style space on Marylebone’s Blandford Street. He added that, after 10 years, ‘it’s time to say goodbye to L’Autre Pied’. The restaurant first opened back in 2007 and has been consistently well rated in our annual survey throughout the years.
Moore says he is looking to the future of his flagship, Pied à Terre, and hopes to secure planning permission for a revival of his Pied Nus pop-up restaurant later this year. The new site will be right next door to the restaurateur’s famous Fitzrovia townhouse, and the two restaurants will be joined by the kitchen but have separate entrances.
Moore has also been enjoying a number of non-executive roles including with Adam Handling, who launches his flagship Frog restaurant in Covent Garden on 1 September, and Noizé – a rustic French restaurant taking over the Fitzrovia site that was once Dabbous – in which he is also an investor.
