Manga fans will be able to feast in a manga-themed restaurant on a mashup of popular Japanese and pan-Asian dishes when it opens in Marylebone next week.
Manga Banga in Lisson Grove is a concept from Guy Holmes, managing director of Captivate Hospitality, a restaurant branding and marketing agency. Based on the idea of the izakaya, an informal venue for eating and drinking, it will combine “delicious Asian small plates, bao, inventive cocktails and manga – Japanese comics and graphic novels developed in the late 19th century” and have more than 100 manga covers decorating the walls.
Dishes include Korean fried chicken, Mexican tacos, and Chinese pork belly and crispy duck, alongside salmon sashimi and gyoza dumplings.
Bookings are available from next Thursday, 30 June.
