A trio of cooks who met in competition at this year’s MasterChef final have teamed up to create the Three Girls Cook supper club, making their debut next month at Goode and Wright in Portobello Road.
Lorna Robertson, Alison O’Reilly and Giovanna Ryan (pictured in that order) reached the last five in a field of 64 amateur cooks. The final was dominated by women – the winner was 29-year-old medic Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed, appropriately enough a gastroenterologist, or stomach specialist.
The supper club runs on three consecutive nights at from June 28, and costs £60 for a glass of fizz and canapes on arrival followed by their MasterChef highlights, including duck, smoked potato, carrot and coriander and duck liver doughnut; clam, baby squid, fregola and tomato broth; grapefruit posset and petits fours. Bookings are available through Goode and Wright.
The Three Girls are all now based in London; Lorna, 22, is originally from Northumberland and works in PR; Dublin-born Alison, 31, is a marketing consultant; and Giovanna, 29, teaches singing and musical theatre. This is their first professional cooking engagement together, but more are expected.
