Following the relaunch of Covent Garden’s Opera Tavern, Urban Pubs and Bars, which acquired Salt Yard Group last year, will reopen Ember Yard.
The Italian-Spanish restaurant in Soho “is going through an exciting transformation”, the owners say, and will offer a revamped menu when in November.
Ember Yard opened back in 2013 and has long been a hotspot for tapas and food cooked over fire. Reviews have been solid since 2016. But it hasn’t gone unnoticed that the brand was getting tired.
Urban Pubs & Bars said it wanted to go “back to basics” with the new look and feel of the restaurant, “stripping it back to reignite the lively, relaxed atmosphere and top-quality Spanish and Italian-inspired dishes that it first became known for.”
A new Italian head chef, Christian Parisi, will lead the new menu. From the Josper grill, dishes will include Membrillo glazed pork ribs with spring onion, hazelnuts and smoked chilli jam, and grass-fed rib-eye with chicken jus. Other dishes include marinated chicken thighs with celeriac, truffle and date mascarpone, smoked confit sea trout, mussel sauce and mushroom tapenade, and spiced roasted cauliflower, pistachio puree and onion jam.
