Yet another gourmet burger brand is pitching up in the capital, arriving in Fitzrovia’s Percy Street straight from Paris on 10 March. With the other existing branches of Big Fernand being in Lille and Lyons, London must have seemed an obvious next step.
To celebrate the launch the restaurant will hand out 100 free hamburgés daily to the most keen foodie fans willing to indulge a few French stereotypes. Don a moustache, stripy t-shirt, or both* and get down to Percy Street from noon on 10-12 March and see if you can grab yourself a freebie.
Big Fernand will apparently put a ‘French spin on the high-end burger trend’, so brace yourself for toppings of fromage non-pasteurisé. That’ll be one for elf and safety, then.
On the menu: Charolais and Aberdeen Angus meat, Tomme de Savoie, Raclette and Fourme d’Ambert cheeses.
*To receive a free hamburger customers must be wearing either a stripy t-shirt, or a real/fake moustache, or both and turn up at Big Fernand from noon on 10, 11 or 12 March 2015. Free hamburgés will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis while stocks last. Big Fernand reserve the right to refuse service.
